Inside Our New Workshop

Hey all!  We are honestly so very excited to give you a little peak into our workshop at the moment.  We have been on the look out for months now for a new space to call our own, something with more room to grow our expanding team and business…and now we’ve just moved in!  It was quite a process, since industrial space in Denver is at an all time low right now and there are very few options out there.  But this space is just a dream, and we are so thankful to be here!

Our old Luckyleo Workshop is actually just around the corner from our new space.  We love being close to the heart of Downtown Denver, and the Santa Fe Arts District.  Our new workshop is a temporary space, since our true unit downstairs is being built out for us in the next few months.

We recently had a few meetings with our architect Cam Minor of Tres Birds, and immediately were so excited to have the opportunity to work with him on our project.  He came up with awesome elements to improve our lighting and drew up some plans for our workshop layout with our process in mind the whole way. It is such a thrill to be able to build out our space exactly how we need it to be for everything to run as smoothly as possible.

The temporary space we are in right now for the next few months is right down our alley.  We love how the natural wood floors and exposed beams create an industrial feel but still have that warmth that makes us feel at home.  Our last space was about three times smaller, so we are so pumped to have the space now to continue expanding our team and adding more elements into what we create at Luckyleo!

Shop his designs here! It's fantastic to have room for beautiful pieces like these that improve our shipping process.

If you have any thoughts on what you’d like to see us add into our lineup in our online store, let us know in the comments below! This is a big time for our company, and we are so thankful to each of you for your support of our business (that makes it possible for us to create in such a cool space!)

Our team was used to bumping elbows and scooting things around to make room for each other as we worked in our old space, but now we have to shout to hear each other across the room!  It’s going to take some getting used to, but we can’t wait to grow into it in the next few months.

We’ve been getting so many orders that it’s been hard to keep up with the demand in Express (and we sell out so quickly that by the time we just did a release and restock, we have to hustle to get more leos designed!)  So we’re expanding our team to be able to make more leos for you all faster and with more options. As always, we are committed to creating in small batches so that your leotards from us are really unique and special!

We aren’t settling in too much here at the temp space, since we will be relocating to the built-out space shortly, but it already feels like home.  I can imagine so many beautiful leotards getting sewn here, and it gives me that warm fuzzy feeling to know they will be loved and worn for years by you all after they leave our workshop.  We will keep you all updated on the process of the build-out of the final space we’ll be moving into in the upcoming months and can’t wait to see how it all turns out!

Most of all, Heather and I just want to thank you all for being so kind to us, showing us the love, and ordering our custom designs!  We relish the fact that we get to sew up pretty leotards every day, and love getting to create your beautiful designs as the orders come in.  It’s truly a dream job that we know is only possible due to your support of our family-run business.  We appreciate you more than you can imagine!  Again, leave us a note on what you’d like to see next from us as we expand our team…Actually, can you also tell me what you think is most annoying about our company? I know that sounds weird, but I am always determined to make it better for you! Heather and I want you all to have the best experience possible and are always looking for ways to improve.  THANK YOU GUYS!

I would love to work in that place.

Thanks, Rebekah! That’s something we have considered adding for a while now. I love the idea of a long option, and we will work on that!

Also, we do offer high cut legs for no charge at all on any custom order. All you have to do is leave a note when checking out that you want us to make the leg line high cut and we will do that for you on your leo!

It would be awesome if you could add longer girth options, even if only for custom orders. I love your leotards, but all of mine are too short for me (in varying amounts depending on the style) and if I wear them for too long it becomes uncomfortable. The leotards are too expensive to buy if they don’t fit, so for now I will just continue admiring the beautiful styles and patterns and waiting for a “tall” option.
In the future I would also love to see a high-cut legline option.
